What is Rotary ?

The Rotary Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs.

bulletHartford Rotary Do-Good Fund

The Club's own 501(c)(3) corporation formed to support projects on a local level.  Funding comes primarily from members and limited fundraising activities.  For the year ended June 30, 2008 and 2009, the Club focused its resources and provided financial assistance to the YMCA Read to Succeed program.  The Club is seeking a matching district grant for this program.

Rotary provides a wonderful opportunity to meet individuals who share a common interest in community service that you might not meet in your normal travels.  Rotarians have made life-time friendships with Rotarians in town as well as around the world.  However, if your only reason for joining Rotary is to develop business contacts, this is not the organization for you.

We meet weekly, on Monday's, at the West Hartford Rotary Club, Pond House Cafe, in Elizabeth Park for the purpose of fellowship, communication and exchange of ideas that fulfill our personal desires of "Service Above Self".

Each week we have guest speakers who come to discuss current issues, social concerns, governmental affairs and business developments.

Visiting Rotarians and those interested in Rotary, please stop by.  We are currently looking for a meeting place so for now we will be joining the West Hartford Rotary Club weekly at the, Pond House Cafe, Elizabeth Park, (860) 231-8823.  An easy drive down Asylum Avenue from downtown businesses and hotels, the Monday  meetings begin at 12:00pm and end at 1:30pm.  Meetings are $15.00 and free restaurant parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the Pond House Cafe, in Elizabeth Park.
